Confusion is one of the uncomfortable places to be in life. But I believe it is actually the cornerstone of creation.
One of the common statements I hear people say when they are confused is “I don’t know if I am supposed do this or do that?” We somehow turn our power to create a solution over to seeking external signs, approval from others or shape what we see into our solution without an intention in place. It is a transitional time that can feel uncomfortable, a time we need to make a decision of what is next. A wonderful time to begin dreaming and creating. The amount of time we spend in the confusion stage determines how long we wonder/wander. The longer we stay in confusion, the more emotions arise and the confusion deepens. It can be a very unproductive, waste of time or a refining moment toward one’s truth.
Many of us blindly wonder forward looking for a solution, a sign from the universe, when the power of creativity comes from our intentions, dreams decisions & desires. It is important to lay a foundation, then look for the opportunities or inspirations that result from the dream you have set into motion. Your heart is your gauge to truth.
I see confusion as a sign to start to re-evaluate & create. It is a time when we hit a fork in the road on our path forward, to determine the next right step. It is time to make a decision, sort through the options to get in touch with our hearts desire, our truth, rather than blindly searching outside ourselves for a solution. When formulating our dreams we should acknowledge the motivation of our wants. What reality our dreams will reflect back to us in our world if manifested as a result. What type of people will be a part of it, how does it affect those around us. Is it empowering to the world or is it self-serving and damaging? Motivation really influences the quality of our experience.
I am a director of a dog rescue. I recently pulled a 1 yr. old dog, Stevie from a shelter for our rescue. I ended up fostering this puppy for a couple weeks before he left to join the other rescue dogs in VA. Let me lay a foundation before I tell you this path I went on.
I presently have an older dog Baboo who is dog friendly, but he has bad hips. He doesn’t like to play so he just snarls at any dog who tries to play with him. He can set some pretty strong limits, although he never makes physical contact. We have decided to let Baboo live out his life as an only dog as he is really happy this way. This young dog, Stevie just wanted to play! Therefore it was not a good match because Stevie deserved a home where he could play.
During my time fostering Stevie I of course fell in love with him. He was very much like the dog I have always wanted to own. He was people friendly, dog friendly and super smart. He was as close to perfect as you could get. I put the dogs together of course to integrate Stevie into home life so he could learn as he came from an isolated hoarding/abuse home his 1st year of life. He was like a caveman entering civilization. Through that process I kept wondering if I should keep him. I felt confused, I turned to my oracle cards and they told me I had manifested this. I remembered that I had longed & meditated at one time for a gold puppy to come to me as my next dog. So again, I felt confused, was he meant to be mine? But the reality of the situation was, Baboo didn’t want to live with a puppy and Stevie needed a playmate. So although it took me a while to give up on the hope of things working out. We reached that place where it was in the best interest of both dogs to only spend certain times of the day together. And the troubling time was at night when Stevie was tired and wanted to play. So that is when I would put him in a different place in the house with toys, chews and myself to let him play. I came to the reality that Stevie would be better off in a home that could meet his life’s truth. When you wonder, you dream about what you want and wonder if what is before you is the result of your desire. But reality presents the truth to you. It is what you do with that truth that determines your outcome. It is what takes you on a path or a detour. Stay honest with yourself in the eye of the confusion and dream about what is best, what you truly want with a clean motivation for the good of all. Meeting Stevie was a defining moment to refine a dream in process. A reconfirmation that where I am is my truth. And in the future, when the time is right, I will find my gold dog.
Let’s draw a card and see what it is we all need to know about overcoming confusion. I drew a card from Collette Baron-Reid’s deck, “Wisdom of the Oracle.” The card is: Building Blocks, upside down or in protection. The essential meaning of this card: strong foundations, a beautiful work in progress. The protection message from the book is: Now is the time to address the cracks in the foundations of your life. Perhaps your values have changed & it is time to strengthen your convictions and let go of the things that no longer serve the vision you have for your life. Or perhaps you chose to ignore the signs that a situation or agreement you have entered into is not right for you. Remove the rotten pieces and reinforce your core moral strength and integrity. Now is the time for rigorous honesty, for you are called to renovate and upgrade your consciousness. Don’t be afraid to replace what’s not solid. You will be so happy when you do. Spirit has a spectacular blueprint for your life far beyond your imagination.
