New Moon & Setting Intentions

I like to follow a few Astrologers to understand the energy influences happening on a daily basis that affect my life. It helps me understand what I am feeling & what is going on in the world. The various phases of the Moon are particularly influential on us all & I am excited to be sharing with you the New Moon & Full Moon phases each month. I hope it will help you move through life more empowered.

This Monday, May 30 at 4:30am PDT is the darkest phase of the New Moon in Gemini. The Moon began its cross over into Gemini this Sunday morning putting it in the same sign as the Sun. When the Moon is at its darkest point, it’s a great time to set intentions of what you hope to accomplish in accordance to the New Moon influences. With each phase, we experience different energies from the Universe that affect how we feel, think & act. Becoming aware, allows us to benefit more fully to improve our lives. Rather than being influenced and not know why things are happening around you. Together we can work to navigate toward a better you. It is also good to consider a personal reading if you want to dig a little deeper in a more personal sense. Or use your own Oracle Cards or supportive tools to explore what can help you navigate this information.

Without going in to all the zodiac & planetary signs involved in this New Moon, in a nutshell, the Moon (your unconscious, emotions) & Sun (your conscious, ego/personality) in Gemini (thoughts, ideas & expressions) provides influences of it being a great time to connect with others, create community & express & gather ideas. At the time of each New Moon, it is when we set intentions to create personal goals for growth and accomplishment. This new moon supports energies to start taking action on all those ideas we have been dreaming about or to act on the learned lessons we have been working so hard to overcome. It is a time to share your dreams with the world, blog, journal & try new things. However, if you are the type of person who overthinks, are indecisive, get scattered or fall into chaos, it is most important to set your intentions or goals to include clarity, decisiveness & ask to be guided for support in these areas. According to Astrologer Dr. Michael Lennox, this energy to communicate & create through action will support us through the end of the year. It will not happen quickly, so you need to understand patience. He says to also remember, communication is 50 % talking and 50% listening, which do you need to improve?

In setting intentions, we are writing down (I use my journal so I can reflect back), what it is we want & stating it as if we are it now, our end result. We are putting requests to the universe to be guided by spirit toward accomplishing & growing. A couple examples of my intentions for the New Moon/Gemini influence would be: “I am writing blog entries that bring truth to many people and enable them to live their truth in their daily lives.” “I am guided to stay focused and to listen intently to communicate effectively.”  After we have set our intentions, our life gets set into motion toward these dreams and wishes. The Universe begins to provide you with tools & lessons to guide you toward what you want or to become. It is not about getting that shiny new car, but it is about empowering yourself to accomplish success, to grow into a person who lives truth & affects those around you in a positive way. When you grow toward goodness with truth in your heart, you accomplish abundance in your life. When you set a goal to become someone you presently are not, the universe will provide you with lessons in order to become who you want to be. So, the enormity of your intention is important. How deep you want to go into your unconscious will be a result of you intention setting. When the universe is set in motion and starts to send you your inspirations, it is important to pay attention to the internal motivation before you act. And to know in your heart what your truth is in getting to where you want to go. Because not every idea or situation that presents itself is going to be the pure one connected to your truth. Remember where you start is not usually where you finish. Meaning maybe you have fear blocking your ability to take action on your dreams. As you move forward with fear motivating you, it generally manifests the very things you fear so you have to face what it is you don’t want to overcome and gain confidence. It is up to you if you want to jump in and create a wave or take it at more comfortable steps. Either way you get to where you go, but one way can be less traumatic than the other depending on how blindly you jump in. See the opportunity for what it is, how it makes you feel before acting. Decide if you feel supported to venture. Walking through a fire without a fire suit usually doesn’t end well. But walking through a fire with a fire extinguisher to help guide you usually has a better result. In other words, take the time to recognize the issues attached to what you want and work to resolve them in order to attain that goal more successfully. If you feel lost and confused, it is time to set more intentions asking for help to understand. Pull on the resources that can help guide you to clarity. Know that spirit is always there to guide you if you just ask.

Let’s draw a card to ask what it is everyone needs to know to improve their communication in this Gemini New Moon: (Using “Oracle of the 7 Energies” by Collette Baron-Reid) I drew “Ears Wide Open.” The meaning of this card is to attain deep listening and letting go of the need to be heard. Let go of distractions – checking your phone, thinking of what you are going to say next when someone is talking, etc. Commit to deep listening, focus on the subtle cues, hear the full story. Let go of the ego’s need to control a situation and become the passive participant who absorbs the moment at hand. There is so much to be learned by listening intently when it is your turn to hear others. In order to grow and learn, you need to ingest what is going on in the moment, not bypassing the information searching for how you can up your game to be heard. Take advantage of the opportunities at hand to grow and learn what is going on beyond the surface, but to hear inspirations and subtleties you can only find when you are focused and silent – with your “Ears Wide Open!” Good luck!

Finding Truth

Navigating life from a place of self-truth is my goal in order to live as authentic of a life as possible. I know that happiness & success are attached to being who you truly are & I believe it fulfills your life’s purpose on this earth. I also personally believe that includes making sure your actions not only serve your truth, but are for the good of all. Meaning your goals & efforts should also benefit those in your life, not promote destruction toward them. Most spiritual teachers say that we are all one, an extension of one another, meaning that our beliefs & actions affect the whole on this planet. So if we can chip away at the misguided motivations that lack the care of the whole or toward ourselves, we can indeed do our part to improve the worlds challenges. It supports the belief that our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. I have always gauged where I was at on an issue by the people & circumstances in my life. When I was single, I knew I was close to meeting my one and only of whom I would marry when I was surrounded in majority with happy & healthy couples in my life. And indeed, that is when I met my husband! When acting on your truth, there are so many emotions and thoughts that are attached to self-truth from life experiences. A good starting point is to become conscious of your motivations & trusting spirit to guide you toward your truth. Whenever I feel confused, I turn to spirit and ask for guidance in my meditations or points of crisis. Often times using my Oracle Cards for reflection & inspiration, journaling or before I go to bed at night I ask to have a dream that will give me answers. Life always seems to answer back with guidance – aka “Inspired Blossoms”. Sometimes answers and resources don’t happen not right away, so it is important to keep the faith toward what you want. When they do arrive, don’t just assume they are meant to be, go inside yourself and ask if it seems this is a resource of truth before acting. We are each capable of establishing our own systems to help self-guide ourselves whether it be professional guidance or faith & spiritual guidance. When you start to think about accomplishing that first goal of self-truth, ask yourself “the whys” – why do you want it? What emotions, actions & thoughts are attached to it? That is your motivation. Are they self-serving, based on payback from incidental wounds of the past or simply a way to dodge getting hurt again? It could be a myriad of things. From there you start to sort through the issues and dig deeper. Maybe you need professional counseling, a book, a class or maybe an Oracle Card reading can help boost the process, you decide what feels right. When I was in high school/college, I was an All-State, All-League and even an All-American Honorable Mention Jr. College Basketball player. With that came a lot of positive & negative recognition. I admit I enjoyed all the positive attention it attracted, but I was also challenged with jealousy and verbal attacks from people who didn’t like me getting the attention, some thinking they deserved it instead of me. There was also the issue of some people getting a little too excited to know me. Granted it was a small audience, but it just never felt right to me for people to think I was someone more than they were. Later in my adult life, I did some stand up comedy at local coffee shops & a few comedy venues. I was single and living alone & one night right when I walked in the door of my apartment, my phone rang. It was a man who acted like we were best friends, but would not identify himself. This went on for several weeks. It became obvious there was one man who was always at my performances trying to get close to me, would be at the restaurant we would go to after our performances & then one day when I pulled into the work parking lot, there he was. I decided that I was not equipped to handle dealing with a stalker & quit comedy. Just like that, the stalker went away. Both these issues are on the surface of my conscious sometimes still today. But in working with conscious motivation of my actions, not acting from this place of fear, self-truth gives me power over these issues. As I believe, action equals results. I believe what you think and believe are a result of your life. What is reflected back to you comes from within. The uncontrollable issues which come from our unconscious mind are the ever evolving lessons we must take on through our entire life and are unavoidable at some level, but I have found the best navigation is to be honest with yourself and to act from the heart for the good of all to tackle the continual self-growth of our life’s purpose. Yes, there will always be challenges in life as reality is the good & the bad. It is how we handle both that give them life to either evolve for or against us. That is my take on this anyway! What is yours?

Dreams & Messages

As you may know, when we dream, it is a time to process our subconscious, often times it is issues that are too much for our conscious mind to deal with. We are in essence, letting go of stress & bringing to light what we need to process. Last night I had this dream I was in a college class & I missed the assignment. When I came to class the next day, everyone had these cubicles with a display of their business model displaying their products and gave a beautiful presentation of what their business was. Meanwhile, I was scrambling to ask my classmates about when the assignment was given & stressing about when it would be my turn, as I had nothing. The dream reminded me of when I was a young girl in my 3rd grade class during math. I never liked math and used to day dream most of the time through my lessons, then would feel ill prepared when it was homework time as I would not know how to do it or would miss the assignment all together. I would then ask my classmates and get in trouble for talking when I was supposed to be working on my assignment. Of course I never wanted to ask the teacher what the assignment was because I was “afraid of getting in trouble”. But guess what, when I’d pester my classmates, I would end up getting in worse trouble with the teacher for talking in class AND not knowing my assignment. Somehow I stumbled through my school years, but not without constantly dreaming of my graduation day & the joy it would bring me to be out of school. The school curriculum was never supportive of my nature & it was something I had to do. But what is the meaning of this dream I had last night & how is it relative to my school memories? Lets ask the Oracle Cards for insight!

The Oracle Card I drew was “The Field of Dreams” in protection mode (upside down): the basic meaning of this card is to act with authenticity, not to let fear stop you from creating. Make sure what you are doing is motivated for the right reason, not for comfort, security or things outside your heart. Intuitively I hear I am not comfortable being in unfamiliar territory. & if I trust what it is I am excited about doing, being authentic about who I am, I will be guided to start a project successfully. Asking questions is okay, not knowing is okay, but to fear is to freeze and do nothing. While the whole time beating myself up from the pressure of what is expected of me. I have to trust to just start & know that when I am being authentic to myself, nature & spirit will help me change course when I need to. It is good to ask questions and use the support I have around me to help me succeed. I don’t have to be perfect to start as every experience builds upon the last and the momentum continues to grow as do my skills. Climbing over the hill of discomfort to accomplish what is in your heart, is learning to be settled while on the adventure of discovery & accomplishment. I have always been a late bloomer and a procrastinator. I have always felt different than the majority. Therefore I sometimes think that what lays in my heart is not a good idea. This assures me, who I am is what leads me to success. I don’t need approval & can not avoid judgement. But instead to celebrate the successes of being me, learn from the criticism without letting it define me or hide what I have to offer the world.
